ABOUT US
Our home is Orange County, and our business is student transportation. We live in your communities and walk the same streets you do. And we are honored to service our communities by carrying those who are most important to us all, our children.
Since 2014, we have been delivering compassionate and precise specialized student transportation services to Orange County school districts. Every school day, we welcome you onboard, and we will be ready for you when it is time to go.

Our modern fleet of vehicles is maintained to the highest standards, and our courteous drivers keep their training fresh through regular testing, education, and practice.
Our people and tools are exceptionally well prepared to assist your families and schools.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICE
We contract with Orange County school districts to provide carefully monitored student travel between home, school, and designated locations. We meet or exceed all federal, state, and local regulations covering student transportation. With a particular focus on special needs students, we provide the extra caution and assistance they sometimes need, along with the reliable accountability our schools require.

Our 100% company-owned fleet has extra safety equipment onboard each vehicle and all drivers train and re-train in their use. Before beginning each workday drivers complete a checklist of first-aid, safety equipment, and all basic mechanicals for road-worthiness. We continuously prepare for emergencies to reduce the chances they ever occur. In-vehicle cameras monitor the roads, our drivers, and passengers. Advanced telemetrics provides real-time digital information about driver behaviors that help us improve safety and training. We test, prove and document the quality of our service to continuously improve it and to give our customers the confidence to choose OC Transit, Inc.

Every school day is different, but having the same driver transporting the same students each day benefits everyone. Our professional drivers practice the best routes, the access requirements of every school, and especially each individual student’s personal needs. We know this consistency makes our work more satisfying, and we think our students and school clients benefit from that continuity as well.

Schools are increasing their campus security practices and parents are always concerned for their children's safety. Our friendly and familiar faces offer confidence to parents, schools, and students.

SAFETY
Of course, passenger safety is our number one priority, because motor vehicle travel remains one of the most dangerous activities most Americans experience each day! Of course, our vehicle equipment and maintenance focus on safety. So each and every employee of OC Transit, Inc. understands their personal contribution to our safety mission. From our hiring, training, monitoring, and supervision we teach, inspect, and test that priority every day.
Before a driver joins OC Transit, Inc. we confirm the following information:
California driver license, DMV records search, DOT Commercial Driver medical check, E-Verify, criminal background check, Live-Scan fingerprint check, drug, and alcohol testing.
Once assigned to a particular school and students our drivers follow the same procedure every day. It begins with a careful inspection of the vehicle. We document it all, every day without fail: tire condition and pressure, motor fluids and components, operability of all lights, signals, doors, windows, heating and air conditioning, dashboard instruments, communication and camera devices and onboard computing devices, driver’s personal communication device, license /registration /insurance documents, first-aid and emergency supplies and equipment.
In addition, every 3000 miles / or 45 days all vehicles receive professional mechanic inspections and service, which includes special emphasis on safety equipment such as tires, brakes, and suspension components.
Following and documenting these procedures enhances safety. We also record and collect all Incident Reports our drivers submit that cover mechanical issues, public interactions, or passenger and parental concerns. Together these all become topics for our ongoing training curriculum and communications with school district personnel. They are taught, rehearsed, and emphasized in all our initial and ongoing training programs listed below.

TRAINING

Before our driver's transport any students they complete extensive training in the classroom and online, including:

-
Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR with certification and emergency first aid practices

-
Defensive Driving teaches risk avoidance on the road. This class explains all the causes of accidents and offers solutions to avoid them.

-
Passenger Safety and Service: we instruct all employees in official regulations and school district expectations and provide sensitivity training that helps us better communicate with our passengers.

After successfully completing the classroom training, our drivers receive extensive behind-the-wheel training from experienced trainers who monitor driving techniques, give detailed recommendations and written feedback.
This learning is kept fresh through group training meetings held multiple times each year, and individual driver reviews and ride-along sessions with supervisors.
